Edrana Baltic, one of the largest software developers in the Baltic States, has entered its 26th year of operation.
What were the biggest challenges you had to overcome?
The biggest challenges in the programme development process are to keep up with the changing business and technology environment, and to implement the most innovative solutions on time. There is a lot of talk at the moment about cyber security, artificial intelligence, optimisation, app efficiency, and making the tool attractive to users. All these challenges are there for us to overcome. In each area, we are looking for the best solutions and a secure and attractive working tool for our customers.
I would also like to stress that we need to catch the technology and innovation train, but also to implement legislative changes on time, for which public authorities usually set very tight deadlines. The applications we have developed are adaptable to the new changes, allowing our clients to carry out their day-to-day work in a calm and stress-free manner.
Who is Edrana Baltic today?
"Today, Edrana Baltic is a team of more than 70 professionals who not only understand the needs of our clients, but also offer innovative solutions for their business. Edrana Baltic is not only developers, but also teachers, consultants and partners. For a quarter of a century we have worked with companies in different sectors, gaining experience, learning and developing together with our customers. Thanks to them, we have grown to become professionals in the business sector, able not only to understand and analyse all the processes, but also to find the pain points and eliminate them. I am very happy that today the Edrana Baltic team is boldly embracing change, because there is nothing more precious and rich than the experience that safely carries us and our clients towards excellence.
What solutions does Edrana Baltic offer, and what are they used for?
We are best recognised for the automated systems we have developed and continue to develop. "Profit-Web is a business management system based on the "modular" principle. Our aim is to provide our customers with a single automated tool that allows different employees in the company to carry out their functions, for example, HR specialists to carry out recruitment and training, occupational safety specialists to monitor health checks and surveys, and responsible persons to manage the material assets assigned to employees. During the software implementation, we outsource a large part of the routine functions to the system itself - employee greetings, reminders, report generation, invoicing, etc. In addition to monitoring key indicators, managers can also assess and plan their company's or department's occupancy, tasks, competencies or employee performance. Employees can easily and quickly access the information they need, make a request, and access information relevant to them. Document management solutions are relevant for many employees, for example, contracts with suppliers or customers can be in a single system, where visualised and validated information reaches the accounting department. It is important to mention that the functionalities are maintained and updated in accordance with the current legislation of the Republic of Lithuania and the Government, the system is audited and improved in accordance with the best security practices (OWASP), and the GDPR functionalities for companies have been implemented for data storage.
Another system that has been in development for more than 25 years is Profit-W for financial management processes. Different modules help to manage financial accounting, fixed assets, other tangible assets, production processes, transport and fuel accounting and subscriber management. The system is easily adaptable to the specific needs of companies and is user-friendly for financiers and accountants.
Technology or business management solutions are effective when they meet or even improve customer needs and processes. That's why the systems or modules we develop are inter-integrated and designed to maximise the elimination of manual work, with the possibility of additional integrations if required.
What are your future plans?
As business management systems have evolved gradually, adding new functionalities, our aim is now to exploit the latest technologies such as artificial intelligence. A dedicated team is analysing its applicability so that we can choose the most useful direction for its use.
This year, we will also focus on user-friendliness and ergonomics. In our interactions with our customers, we analyse where we can make certain processes more efficient and faster. We very much welcome and appreciate the involvement of our customers in improving the system.
Every future plan is usually updated in a new direction, because the market and technology are living organisms that are growing rapidly, so there is always room for unforeseen innovations and plans.
